The Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry will occupy two floors of the new centre on the Bannatyne campus with a 30,000-square-foot purpose-built space for the dental clinic. It will house all clinical facilities of the college. Designed to meet the needs for the college now and into the future, this initiative will position the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry for even greater levels of excellence, student success and community impact.

  • Chairside radiology units to assist in digital imaging
  • Units with chairside dental microscopes
  • Chairside intraoral scanning to expose students to design and fabrication of dental prostheses
  • Patients will benefit from this new workflow as the delivery of their restorations could be accelerated
  • Treatment planning, design and digital lab facility for undergraduate and graduate students to mill or print casts and restorations

GRADUATE and SPECIALTY CLINICS

  • Specialist dental clinics on one floor enhancing undergraduate/graduate student collaboration and interdisciplinary care among graduate programs
  • Digital records and photography lab
  • Equipped with high-end sterilization equipment and modernized HVAC systems for optimal air quality and infection control
  • Fully accessible and sensitive to the needs of people living with cognitive and physical disabilities. Included will be one special needs suite with nitrous and IV sedation capabilities
  • Three oral and maxillofacial oral surgery suites with negative air pressure, nitrous and IV capacity as well as a recovery room
  • Patient consultation room
  • One microscope/oral pathology teaching lab
