Dr. Robert Schroth, professor of preventive dental science, successfully completed the American Board of Dental Public Health Oral Certifying Examination in April 2024 and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health, which is the certifying board for dental public health specialists in the United States.

Dr. Craig Fedorwich [DMD/86] received the President’s Award of Merit.
Dr. Leland McFadden, assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Md Mahamudul Haque, a PhD student in oral biology, received a 2024 graduate studentship, which is a scholarship available to Rady Faculty of Health Sciences graduate students in their first or second year of a thesis-based master’s or doctoral program. Read more.
Stacey Urban, a member of the dental hygiene Class of 2024, received the Governor General’s Bronze Medal for highest standing in a diploma program of at lease two years other than diploma agriculture. Read more.
Dr. Mohamed El Azrak received the 2023-2024 Dr. Keith Titley Pediatric Dental Graduate Training Scholarship, awarded by the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. This scholarship supports advanced training in the area of research and fellowship in pediatric dentistry in Canada and is awarded to a graduate student in their final year of an accredited Canadian advanced training program.
