I am delighted to introduce myself as the new donor relations officer at the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry. I am excited about the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated faculty, staff, students, volunteers and alumni who share our collective vision for the future.
Having served the University of Manitoba for more than two decades, I have had the privilege of working with many donors who have chosen to support innovative research projects, establish student awards, enhance facilities and provide valuable resources for academic programs. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have worked with some of you in the past to honour the memory of esteemed individuals such as Dr. Lawrence Stockton, Dr. Archie McNicol and Dr. Peter Cortens.
During my first few months, I have been fortunate to meet many of you already – whether it was at the Dentistry Alumni Reception in Vancouver, the Manitoba Dental Association President’s Gala, the University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association Dinner or the lively All-Dentists musical – what fun!
In the coming months, you can expect various initiatives and events aimed at celebrating philanthropy and promoting engagement. I hope you will take the opportunity to join us and be part of this transformative journey. Together, we can strengthen the bonds of our college community and leave a lasting legacy.
