Community Dentist Appreciation Day
On Sept. 21, the Community Dentist Appreciation Day was held for the Dr. Sam Borden Periodontology Clinic’s referring dentists and prospective new dentists. And the Graduate Periodontics Program and Continuing Professional Development Dentistry and Dental Hygiene presented a series of mini-lectures by residents on the latest advancements in periodontology and implantology.
The presentations were:
- Latest advancements in adjunctive non-surgical therapy by Dr. Suraya Dhalla
- Latest advancements in ridge augmentation by Dr. Daniel Su
- Artificial intelligence and robotics by Dr. Paul Klassen
- Ultrasonography and its application in periodontics by Dr. Joseph Grauer
- Peri-implant maintenance by Dr. Daniel Su
Oral Cancer Screening Pop-Up Clinic
On Oct. 10, periodontology residents joined faculty, staff, residents and students who volunteered at the to the first Oral Cancer Screening Pop-Up Clinic held in Brodie Centre atrium. Read more about the event.
American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting
Dr. Suraya Dhalla, second-year resident, and Dr. Joseph Grauer, third-year resident, presented their posters at the American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting in San Diego from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. The posters were titled:
- “Management of cervical enamel projection and Class II furcation defect with regeneration – A case report” by Dr. Dhalla
- “Analysis of the biologic response to immediate versus delayed implants at the implant-soft tissue interface” by Dr. Grauer
