Thirty-nine dental students took part in the Children\u2019s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba\u2019s 35th annual Teddy Bears\u2019 Picnic at Assiniboine Park on Sept. 8, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The student volunteers helped out at the Health Smile Happy Child<\/a>\u2019s booth in the Children\u2019s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba\u2019s (CHRIM) I Want to be a Scientist tent. The learners helped with activities that focused on the importance of oral health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cAbout 1,500 community members came to the I Want to be a Scientist tent to learn about the many research activities at CHRIM and the importance of taking care of young children\u2019s teeth for a lifetime of healthy smiles,\u201d said Daniella DeMar\u00e9, project coordinator with the Healthy Smile Happy Child Initiative. \u201cVolunteers from the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry helped to make it a huge success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Dental students also helped out at the NorWest Co-op Community Health\u2019s Family Halloween Celebration on Oct. 26, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n
