{"id":191,"date":"2021-09-20T16:10:11","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T21:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.radyfhs.umanitoba.ca\/dentistry\/?p=191"},"modified":"2022-03-25T15:45:06","modified_gmt":"2022-03-25T20:45:06","slug":"grants-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.radyfhs.umanitoba.ca\/dentistry\/grants-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dr. Devi Atukorallaya received $10,000 from UM&#8217;s University Research Grants Program for her research project titled <em>Gene &#8211; alcohol interactions in tooth development; Insight from Zebrafish (Danio rerio)<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Prashen Chelikani and his team was approved for funding from the Research Grants &#8211; Fall 2021 program of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for the research project titled <em>Bitter taste receptor mediated innate immune responses in cystic fibrosis<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gayle Halas (NPI), Sonia Udod, Lorraine Avery, Kristy Rebenchuk, Al Wiebe, Shuangbo Liu, Pernell Jones were awarded $24,991 from the University Collaborative Research Program (UCRP) to conduct a two-year research project entitled <em>Par: Step-down transition process to support individuals who are homeless and discharged from inpatient cardiac care<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oral microbiome and caries risk in young First Nations and M\u00e9tis children in Manitoba. Canadian Institutes of Health Research $1,422,900 (2021 \u2013 2026 RJ Schroth (Principal Investigator (PI); Co-PI\u2019s: P. Chelikani, K. Yerex, R. Campbell, J. Sanguins; Co-Applicants: F. Chartrand, K. Duan, P. Hu, V. Cruz de Jesus, A. Yadav). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. C.
