College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Membership

Medical students are encouraged to become members of the College of Family Medicine of Canada (CFPC), and as a member to join not only of the Section of Medical Students but also of the Section of Researchers (SOR). Membership in the CFPC and SOR is free for medical students. Medical students often do not realize that many family doctors are involved in research at various levels: as members of PBRNs, as collaborators with academic family medicine researchers, or as PIs on grants as academic family physicians.

Non-physician members of the department and researcher units are also encouraged to become associate members of the CFPC and SOR. The benefits of associate membership are outlined on the college website.
