March 2021<\/p>I wanted to follow-up with all staff, faculty and learners to provide you with an update on the progress we have made to date on the development of a new strategic plan to guide the department\u2019s direction and strategic focus for the next three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through December 2020 to mid-February 2021, a variety of stakeholder consultations have occurred\u00a0including 25\u00a0primary stakeholder interviews,\u00a0two surveys directed to all staff\/ faculty and learners within the department,\u00a0and a series of seven focus groups with key partners and interest groups, both inside and external to the university. The response and level of engagement has exceeded our expectations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In total, we logged over 1,600 specific comments through the engagement process that will now be themed and a consolidated summary along with\u00a0the\u00a0results of an\u00a0environmental scan will be\u00a0provided\u00a0to the strategic planning committee to guide the development of our next\u202f strategic plan.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the next few weeks, the department\u2019s strategic committee will be meeting to update our vision, mission and values statements, and to identify our future orientations. We anticipate a final strategic plan being completed by June 2021.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n
