Everyday, pathologists across Manitoba analyze thousands of test results and biopsy specimens to make critical diagnoses that determine how patients are treated.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are important \u2013 if not the most important \u2013 members of a care team, albeit never seen by patients. We diagnose the cause of illness, how it develops, the effect of the illness on cells and the outcome of the illness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increasingly our work can help prevent illnesses, and understand its molecular basis.\u00a0We are pleased to teach and have always accepted students, residents and fellows in our department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
