{"id":770,"date":"2021-03-02T16:31:42","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T21:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.radyfhs.umanitoba.ca\/medicine\/?p=770"},"modified":"2021-03-02T16:55:41","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T21:55:41","slug":"dept-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.radyfhs.umanitoba.ca\/medicine\/dept-message\/","title":{"rendered":"Message from the department head"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-658 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/news.radyfhs.umanitoba.ca\/medicine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2017\/07\/Jose-Francois-1-e1614720800184.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" \/>March 2021<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to follow-up with all staff, faculty and learners to provide you with an update on the progress we have made to date on the development of a new strategic plan to guide the department\u2019s direction and strategic focus for the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>Through December 2020 to mid-February 2021, a variety of stakeholder consultations have occurred\u00a0including 25\u00a0primary stakeholder interviews,\u00a0two surveys directed to all staff\/ faculty and learners within the department,\u00a0and a series of seven focus groups with key partners and interest groups, both inside and external to the university. The response and level of engagement has exceeded our expectations.<\/p>\n<p>In total, we logged over 1,600 specific comments through the engagement process that will now be themed and a consolidated summary along with\u00a0the\u00a0results of an\u00a0environmental scan will be\u00a0provided\u00a0to the strategic planning committee to guide the development of our next\u202f strategic plan.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next few weeks, the department\u2019s strategic committee will be meeting to update our vision, mission and values statements, and to identify our future orientations.
