As we enter this cherished season, I extend warm wishes to you and your family for a wonderful time over the holidays, filled with joy, happiness and renewal.
With the dawn of a new year on the horizon, we eagerly anticipate remarkable milestones and the positive impacts they will generate.
In February, we’re thrilled to host a pinning ceremony to celebrate the dedication of 82 students who accelerated their completion of the Bachelor of Nursing program by enrolling in the summer term. Additionally, we’ll celebrate the inaugural graduates of our BN program expansion, who commenced in Fall 2022 and will complete in December 2024. We’re excited about the significant contributions these graduates will make in delivering exceptional patient- and family-centred care, addressing the provincial nursing shortage, and shaping the health care landscape.
April will mark the graduation of our inaugural Bachelor of Midwifery program cohort. We will celebrate their dedication and excellence and look forward to their contribution to the delivery of exceptional midwifery services in Manitoba.
As leaders in integrating the use of virtual reality into our curricula to advance students’ acquisition of critical thinking and clinical skills, we will expand its integration across interprofessional programs.
We will continue our efforts in making our graduate programs more accessible to nurses across the province. Our researchers will continue to conduct research that is impactful to improving the health and wellbeing of Manitobans.
We’re excited to commemorate the 25th anniversary of our strong and enduring partnership with the University College of the North for the delivery of our Bachelor of Nursing program. Festivities will take place in The Pas and Thompson, honoring this enduring collaboration.
On behalf of the College of Nursing, I extend heartfelt wishes to you and your family for a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a year ahead filled with inspiration and fulfillment.
