On March 23 and 25, the College of Nursing arranged a tour of the Helen Glass Centre of Nursing for second-year students who have, for the most part, been attending classes virtually since they began the program in 2020.
The 45-minute walking tours were led by second year theory instructors Danielle Yaffe and Lisa Banman, who took the students in groups of 20 through the simulation labs, classrooms and student lounges, before ending in the Helen Glass atrium. Approximately 90 students attended over the two days.
In atrium, students met College of Nursing dean Dr. Netha Dyck, director of undergraduate nursing programs Lori Davis, student advisor Marla Robson, PINE coordinator/academic coach Tyla Turman, third-year nursing instructor Barb Goodwin, clinical director Donalda Wotton and a second-year clinical course leader Rhonda Dube.
Students received information on their upcoming clinical rotations, as well as the various supports and resources available to them.
