APPOINTMENTS AND SERVICE ACTIVITIES
Daniel Nagel has been appointed as president-elect to Community Health Nurses of Canada, June 23, 2025 (presidency to run June 2026 – June 2028).
Daniel Nagel has been invited as a Visiting Scholar to the School of Nursing, Guangdong Pharmaceutical University (Guangzhou, China) and Macao Polytechnic University (Macao, China), September 20 – 26, 2025.
Roberta Woodgate was appointed as a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Social Science Research and Policy (CSSRP), Faulty of Arts, University of Manitoba.

HONOURS AND DISTINCTIONS
Heidi Elias, instructor II, graduated from McMaster University with a Masters of Science in Midwifery.
Dr. Roberta Woodgate and team won the 2025 People’s Choice Poster Award at the annual Children’s Healthcare Canada Conference for the following poster presentation: Woodgate, R. Respite Care: A mixed methods study on the experiences of families of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) residing in Manitoba, Canada. APPOINTMENTS AND SERVICE ACTIVITIES
Dr. Mandy Archibald was promoted to associate professor and granted tenure at the College of Nursing.
Dr. Lynda Balneaves, associate dean (research) and professor, was selected as a CIHR Outstanding Reviewer for 2024.
Dr. Vanessa Van Bewer, assistant professor, was elected to a three-year term as Indigenous Senator at the University of Manitoba, effective June 1, 2025.
