The Nursing Students\u2019 Association (NSA) held an all-day event March 24 in the Helen Glass Atrium to celebrate the diverse cultures represented at the College of Nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Culturama was organized by NSA international student representative Fayo Olatunji, treasurer Chioma Nwagbo, vice-president Faith Osoba and fourth-year nursing student Matthew Ushakov. The event included cultural displays, food and a red carpet fashion show featuring traditional clothing from seven participating students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olatunji said the event was designed for students to celebrate their own cultures, while learning about the backgrounds of their peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cultures represented included Nigerian, Filipino, Indian, Korean, Ukrainian, Kenyan, Croatian, Chinese and Indigenous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is an event we\u2019ve wanted to do since last year, but there was a lot going on with students just returning to campus after COVID,\u201d added Nwagbo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers said they hope the event can continue annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
