For the first time, the College of Pharmacy combined the annual graduate studies celebration with the Faiman lecture and the research poster winner presentations. The unique combined event, which took place on March 31, 2021, highlighted our graduate students’ achievements and successes in academics and research.
Faculty, staff, donors, special guests and a keynote speaker joined virtually to celebrate the achievements of 29 master’s and PhD students.
Danielle Lee, who was awarded the CPhM/William G. Eamer Graduate Scholarship in Pharmacy, and Alekhya Lavu, who was awarded the Leslie F. Buggey Graduate Scholarship in Pharmacy, presented their Three Minute Thesis presentations at the event.
Courtney Lawrence and Madhumita Suresh were recipients of the College of Pharmacy Endowment Stipend Awards.
The College of Pharmacy research poster competition winners also presented virtually. They included presentations by Snehit Patel, undergraduate winner; Walid Shouman, master of science winner; and Danielle Lee, PhD winner.
During the ceremony, Dr. Raman-Wilms honoured the late Dr. JoAnne Buggey, a long-time friend and generous supporter of the College of Pharmacy.
The event also featured the Morris D. Faiman Lecture keynote address. Dr. Ryan Zarychanski, associate professor of internal medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, who also holds an appointment with the College of Pharmacy, gave the lecture titled Conducting clinical trials in a pandemic: Adaptive platforms and models of authentic global collaboration.
