Happy fall to our College of Pharmacy community!
As I reflect on the past two months in my new role as dean, I’m filled with gratitude to work alongside such a talented, dedicated and passionate group of people.
From our students — the heart of our college — to our exceptional faculty and committed staff, and to our alumni who continue to uplift and support our community: thank you.
The academic year has only just begun, yet we’ve already experienced special moments that have made it so memorable.
We welcomed new PharmD and graduate students, and we celebrated the beginning of our Class of 2029 PharmD students’ journey with the annual white coat ceremony. We’re thrilled to have them join our community, and I know they’ll learn so much here about becoming skilled and compassionate pharmacists and champions of their profession.
We welcomed one new faculty member and four new staff over the past four months. We’re excited to have you join us as we make an impact together.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming back alumni from the classes of 1965, 1975,1985 and 2015 during UM Homecoming reunions and events at the Apotex Centre and the Brodie Centre. Thank you for making the time and effort to return to your alma mater and hear about what’s new in your College of Pharmacy — your presence means so much.
Together, we’ve built a strong community of learners, practicing pharmacists, researchers and leaders. Our legacy of health care provision and promotion — as well as discovery — is shaped by our shared commitment to excellence and to one another.
I can’t wait to see what the coming year will bring.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hope Anderson
