After an accomplished and dedicated 39-year career at the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Ruby Grymonpre retired in June 2021. She was the first faculty member at the College of Pharmacy trained with an advanced PharmD degree to be hired to a tenure track position at a Canadian faculty of pharmacy. With an expertise in geriatric pharmacy, Dr. Grymonpre played a pivotal role in pharmacy for the aging, including a clinical consultant to the Medication Information Line for the Elderly (MILE), established in collaboration with former dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. John Steele (1985-2000).
While Dr. Grymonpre’s teaching and research work focused on the provision of care to the elderly, patient safety and provision of pharmaceutical care, her work in interprofessional education and collaborative practice was also very significant. The College of Pharmacy paid tribute to Dr. Grymonpre’s productive and successful career at a virtual faculty and staff meeting on June 16, 2021. Please join us in wishing Dr. Grymonpre all the best in her retirement.
