(Pharm) in 2010 from the University of Manitoba. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) in 2012 at the University of Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She joined the College of Pharmacy in 2013 as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2022. She teaches extensively in the PharmD program and currently chairs the curriculum and assessment committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Leong\u2019s research focuses on primary care, with an emphasis on mental health and pharmacy practice. Her program aims to optimize treatment strategies and improve the quality of care for patients taking medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research includes examining patterns of psychotropic medication use at a population level, exploring pharmacist interventions for patients at risk of declining mental health and\/or overdose, and studying outcomes related to substance use in Manitoba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please join us in welcoming Dr. Leong to her new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On behalf of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Anderson expresses sincere gratitude to <strong>Dr. Lavern Vercaigne<\/strong> for his significant contributions during his 16 years as associate dean, academic.
