Clinical Learning & Simulation Program and Standardized Patient Program news

The Clinical Learning & Simulation Program (CLSP) and the Standardized Patient Program (SPP) are looking forward to the upcoming fall sessions. We’d like to share some important staffing updates and remind everyone of our booking processes so we can continue to serve you efficiently.


Staffing Updates

  • Welcome – Amy Brake
    In January 2025, we welcomed Amy Brake as our new Recruitment and Communications Coordinator. Amy will be your primary contact for booking Standardized Patients (SPs), you can reach out to her at SPProgram@umanitoba.ca.
  • Farewell – Lezlie Brooks
    As of July 2025, Lezlie Brooks has moved on from the SP Program. We thank her for her years of dedicated service and wish her every success in her future endeavors.
  • New Role – Tim Webster
    Effective August 5, 2025, Tim Webster has assumed the position of SP Education Lead. We look forward to the experience and enthusiasm he will bring to this new role.
  • Simulation Technicians
    We have welcomed three new Simulation Technicians, enabling us to host simulation events during evenings and weekends. They are eager to support your training activities.

Booking Process Reminders

Please note that Room Bookings and Standardized Patient (SP) Bookings are separate processes.

To ensure smooth coordination of SP requests:

  1. Confirm your Room Booking before requesting SPs.
  2. Submit SP requests through the centralized booking process by completing the SP Request Form
  3. Your request must be submitted a minimum of six weeks prior to your event, we may not be able to accommodate requests with less than six weeks notice.
  4. You will receive confirmation within three business days of submission.
  5. A designated SPP team member will be assigned to your event for personalized support.
  6. For all SP-related inquiries, use SPProgram@umanitoba.ca.
