I want to inform you that I have notified the UM Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Dr. Janice Ristock of my intent to step down as dean, Max Rady College of Medicine; dean, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and vice-provost (health sciences) effective June 30, 2022.
I have enjoyed my time in these roles enormously. Twelve years will have flown by, and I have sincerely appreciated engaging and working together with all of you.
Since the establishment of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, we have collectively built a strong faculty that is a leader in interprofessional collaborative education; interdisciplinary and innovative research; equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI); anti-racism; social accountability; community engagement; and Indigenous health and reconciliation. Our education programs are very successful, our supports for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate learners are robust, and we continue to educate and train the majority of our province’s health-care professionals.
I want to thank you for your remarkable contributions to the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. I’ve been particularly fortunate to get to know many students and student leaders over the years and I am certain our health-care professions will be in good hands.
We still have much to do. I look forward to continuing to work together over the next year to further advance our faculty’s strategic priorities.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brian Postl
