We were delighted to engage with our esteemed alumni during Homecoming weekend to celebrate the 80th anniversary of our College of Nursing and the 25th anniversary of our partnership with the University College of the North (UCN).

The College of Nursing has made significant contributions over the years in the delivery of quality nursing education, advancement of research and scholarship and service to the community. We have grown from 18 students in the first enrolment, to our current enrolment of more than 1,100 students. The number of programs has expanded to two undergraduate and three graduate programs.

Over the 80 years, the College of Nursing has had the privilege of preparing more than 10,500 nurses and nurse leaders, whose invaluable contributions to the quality of health care, education and research have been outstanding and most inspiring.

We also celebrated the 25th anniversary of our strong and enduring partnership with UCN for the collaborative delivery of our BN program in The Pas and Thompson. We are proud of the 543 graduates from the UCN Cohort over the years and their remarkable impact on the delivery of health services in the north.

It was awe-inspiring to also celebrate the milestone anniversaries with our amazing alumni, including the 50th anniversary of our class of 1973, the 40th anniversary of the class of 1983, the 25th anniversary of the class of 1998, and the 10th anniversary of the class of 2013.

We look forward to the future and the contributions the College of Nursing team, students, and alumni will continue to make in advancing our profession of nursing and the quality of health care.
