Students invited to “speak up” through website

As part of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences’ commitment to ensuring safe, respectful and supportive working and learning environments, a new “speak up” button has been added to the College of Nursing website.

“Students can use the button as an easy way to confidentially report a concern of learner mistreatment,” said Lori Davis, director of undergraduate nursing programs.

“We encourage them to provide their name, so we can get back to them and try to work through and resolve their concern but they are able to submit their report anonymously,” she said.

The button is located on the college’s student experience page, alongside a “keep it up” button that students can use to give positive feedback about their instructors and others involved in their learning.

All of these reports are sent to the Office of Professionalism for review before appropriate parties are contacted.
