Annual pharmacoepidemiology workshop

The ISPE/ISPOR University of Manitoba student chapters hosted the fourth annual pharmacoepidemiology workshop on November 26-27, 2020.

This two-day virtual workshop featured top academic and research experts in pharmacoepidemiology.

Invited speakers included Dr. Samy Suissa from McGill University, Dr. Mina Tadrous from University of Toronto, and Dr. Lisa Lix from Community Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, who spoke on advanced concepts in pharmacoepidemiology. Alumna Dr. Amani Hamad presented on introduction to pharmacoepidemiology to the 33 UM workshop participants. Finally, PhD candidate Kevin Friesen conducted a hands-on session in SAS/SQL coding.

This year we had the highest ever recorded number of participants attend our virtual workshop, including students from other faculties of the University of Manitoba and pharmacoepidemiology students from McGill University and University of Toronto.
