A team involved in diagnosing, researching and preventing

By Dr. Camelia Stefanovici

Max Rady College of Medicine

Everyday, pathologists across Manitoba analyze thousands of test results and biopsy specimens to make critical diagnoses that determine how patients are treated.

We are important – if not the most important – members of a care team, albeit never seen by patients. We diagnose the cause of illness, how it develops, the effect of the illness on cells and the outcome of the illness.

Increasingly our work can help prevent illnesses, and understand its molecular basis. We are pleased to teach and have always accepted students, residents and fellows in our department.

Visit the department of pathology’s website for more information.
