Dr. Meghan Azad, professor of pediatrics and child health and Canada Research Chair in developmental origins of chronic disease, was elected to the Executive Council of the International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation for a three-year term.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was onsite at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba in February to interview Dr. Azad and feature the MILC Biorepository Lab.


Dr. Marni Brownell, professor of community health sciences and Manitoba Centre for Health Policy associate director of research, spoke with CBC Manitoba about how a lack of support contributes to Manitoba’s high rate of youth in care and makes them more vulnerable to justice system involvement.
