  • The department of family medicine is approaching its 50th anniversary. It was in 1973 that the first resident entered the family medicine residency training program. The planning committee has selected May 26, 2023 to celebrate the occasion with a gala hosted at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre. In line with its strategic priorities the department wants to use this opportunity to celebrate and promote its members and its legacy. They are planning to do so by reflecting and celebrating how far they have come, while establishing new awards that will celebrate and promote learners, faculty and staff on an ongoing basis. The department needs your help! In order to promote and maximize its reach within its community they will launch a social media platform. We are looking for the most creative hashtags to promote and track activity surrounding the department. Please submit your ideas to DFM@Umanitoba.ca with the subject #Anniversary for a chance to win one of three prizes.
