In June, as part of its ongoing commitment to health in the community, the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences partnered for the fifth time with Habitat for Humanity Manitoba to help construct a home for purchase by a Winnipeg family.
A total of 58 volunteers – students, faculty and staff representing dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and rehabilitation sciences – contributed labour to the Rady “Key to Health” project.
The five-day build took place at a Habitat development in Winnipeg’s Transcona area. A couple who came to Manitoba from Ethiopia and their four children will take ownership of the four-bedroom townhouse.
